For more than 25 years, COMPASS Youth Collaborative has supported and mentored thousands of Hartford’s at-risk youth, helping them overcome obstacles, solve problems, and forge a path for success. What began as a drop-in center established by seven local teenagers looking for a safe place to hang out has grown into a mid-sized influential agency reaching hundreds of youths every year.

COMPASS Youth Collaborative connects with high-risk youth wherever they are in the City of Hartford. They engage them in relationships to provide supports and opportunities that help them become ready, willing and able to succeed in education, employment and life. Richard spent 10 years getting to know COMPASS at the board level with half of that time spent as Board Chair. This organization has helped set our own vision of what’s possible in the world which, in turn, has helped us set a similar vision for every organization we work with.
