Firebox is locally sourced cuisine on a mission. While serving extraordinary food, this farm-to-table restaurant operates sustainably and brings jobs, investment and opportunity to Hartford’s Frog Hollow neighborhood. Profits from the restaurant support Billings Forge Community Works and its wide range of programs for youth and families.

From the onset, Billings Forge and the staff at Firebox recognized that consistently delivering quality food and atmosphere were the most important means to achieving mission (and profits to support more mission). There were nods to Billings Forge, but the restaurant experience came first.

Having earned a solid reputation for fine cuisine, Billings Forge asked us to better integrate the social purpose of Firebox into the brand and patron experience. By playing up the role of and commitment to “local” – in food, community history and active investment – the transition felt natural and upheld the values of Firebox, Billings Forge and Frog Hollow.
