The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is one of the oldest and largest community foundations in the country. They are highly regarded as a reliable funder and powerful nonprofit capacity builder.

Through their work and partnerships, they have seen that enduring social change requires a community’s efforts and investments be well informed, integrated, and collaborative. Therefore, in order to advance key issues in Greater Hartford, it is important that they also strengthen their presence and perception as a convener.

In 2014, the Foundation engaged CO:LAB to craft their web site and 90th anniversary annual report. Together, these projects gave us the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge of the Foundation’s vision, approach and work, and clearly articulate who they are, what they do, and the difference they are making. It was also the start of a profound relationship with the Foundation where we provide strategic insights into what is happening on the streets of our region, share perspectives on the Foundation’s anti-racist strategies, advise on the Foundation’s Artists Of Color Unite! Advisory Group, and continue to find more and more ways of connect the mission of the Foundation with the needs of the community.
