Of all the covetous items made of paper and ink, Strathmore’s efforts were the most luxe in the category of promotional items for paper companies. An annual highlight was the Strathmore Graphics Gallery, a competition of work produced on this sumptuous paper. This was an opportunity to express gratitude to all of the designers who specified Strathmore for their projects, to celebrate excellence in design, and to show a range of paper grades in action.

We were commissioned to produce the centennial materials. We took a detailed approach to the design from the formal aesthetic to the new function for the Strathmore journal. Much like resolutions, folks rarely complete a journal—we had noticed that designers usually had several journals going at once. For the Gallery promotion, we created a two sided journal so the user could start again with a new direction any time during the year.
