Richard went to visit the Rhode Island National Guard at Quonset State Airport, where he got to review the design thinking outcomes of Rhode Island student teams as they worked to integrate STEAM curriculum more deeply into their school systems.
Also reviewing were: National Guard Generals, Directors from Raytheon and Boys & Girls Club, and the Director of RI’s Department of Economic Development.
The review was followed by an air show which the students saw as a great reward for hard work.
Why STEAM?
STEAM refers to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Formally, and still usually, the focus is STEM – we want to continue to bring the importance of art, creativity and design thinking into STEM.
